I walked my dogs this morning and came across a realtor putting up a For Sale sign two blocks up from my house. I only know these neighbors to wave and say hello. I don’t even know their first names.
I know they have great landscaping and super Christmas decorations every year. I always admire them when I pass by their house.
Once I saw the realtor snapping the sign in place, I got sentimental.
I’m going to miss these people I don’t even know. The owner of the house came out to chat. He laughed with the realtor when I told them I don’t like goodbyes or For Sale signs.
They thought I was joking! I wasn’t.
So if you plan to move into my neighborhood in the near future, please knock on my door. We will become friends.
I can’t bear losing another neighbor I don’t know.

Once my husband and were moving. We were in the driveway moving boxes and furniture around when the lady who lived next door came over and said, “Welcome to the neighborhood! I hope you like it here.” So I said to her, “ We are moving OUT, not IN. We have lived here over two years.” Guess we didn’t make much of an impression in the neighborhood. Denise
